Friends of Manatee County Animal Services To Host
“Rock Out 4 Rescue” Event at MCAS on April 15

Palmetto, March 28 – Manatee County Animal Services (MCAS) and Friends of Manatee County Animal Services (FoMCAS) are partnering for a rockin’ good cause: the homeless animals of Manatee County! FoMCAS will host “Rock Out 4 Rescue” at MCAS in Palmetto on Saturday, April 15. The all-day, family-friendly event will feature entertainment and food, plus all adoption fees will be only $20. With over 200 animals at the shelter facility, MCAS has a wide selection of furry friends for every family.

“Rock Out 4 Rescue” features a full day of local entertainment, including live music, food and a marketplace for the community to enjoy while visiting the shelter. FoMCAS will be promoting their “Heal My Heart” Campaign, which funds heartworm treatment to the affected shelter animals. Information and vendor booths, food vendors, kids’ activities and a live music area will be set up on the grounds of the Palmetto facility.

Schedule of events (subject to change):
11:30 a.m.: Gabriel Newell
1:00 p.m.: Ribbon-cutting for the “Real Life Room” in the shelter
1:30 p.m.: Big Daddy Band

All $20 cat and dog adoptions include spay/neuter, microchip and rabies certificate. Manatee County residents are required to license their new pet for an additional $15. The adoption promotion will be honored on April 15th at MCAS located at 305 25th Street West in Palmetto and 1002 Manatee Avenue West in Bradenton (cats only.)

WHERE: “Rock Out 4 Rescue” will be held at Manatee County Animal Services, 305 25th Street West, Palmetto FL 34221. The Downtown Adoption Center (cats only), located at 1002 Manatee Avenue West, Bradenton 34205, will be open. Animal Services can be reached at 941-742-5933.

WHEN: “Rock Out 4 Rescue” is on Saturday, April 15th from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. in Palmetto. The Downtown Adoption Center will be open from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. for adoptions.

WHY: Manatee County Animal Service’s mission is to maintain public health and safety through the enforcement of laws and ordinances related to animals, to promote responsible pet ownership, promote adoptions, and reduce pet overpopulation.
